As summer winds down and the kids head back to school, why not pick up a few Fall fashion must haves to freshen up your business style (you are back to school shopping anyways)!
This season’s colours include oxblood (yes, sounds icky but think deep wine hue)…this season’s “it” colour. Carnelian, citrine, red, sapphire blue, soft pink, black n’ white round out the colour palette, too. If these are not flattering around the face, consider wearing a skirt or pants in one of these colours, a purse or a swirling patterned scarf, for example.
Jacket
A little bit of faux fur is big this season…the military look is back again, too. Jackets look great over a pair of jeans with boots.

Winter White Blouse
Or anything white as a monochromatic colour for an outfit is very big this season. A white blouse is always a good staple…if you tend to be more of a cool based undertone stick with white and ivory/cream if more warm based.

Boots and Printed Pumps
Boots are always a good item to have regardless of what the slaves to fashion are wearing. These pumps are fab with jeans and a white t-shirt or LBD.

JAG has a great fitting pair of jeans with out all of the bulk. It’s a pull-up jean that has a smooth waistband, avoiding a zipper and button.
Tunics or Over-sized Sweaters with Large Prints
If you feel draped by a tunic because of being short-legged, belt it to give better balance. Avoid a wide belt if your torso is short or heavy. Opt for a narrow belt that is comfortable rather than tight. Large prints or geometric designs are part of this season’s offerings. Watch proportion, though, as large prints on a small person can be overwhelming while small prints on a large person increases bulk.

- know your business/personal wardrobe needs – will this item go with at least 3 other pieces in my wardrobe?
- know your body type & best colours – just because the colour or article of clothing is “fashionable” does not mean it belongs on you!!
- know your budget – stay within your budget especially if it’s tight…hear it squeak??
Impress the sales staff when you ask if they have any sweaters or jackets in oxblood!!
